Question by jus_smilenwave: What’s the best medication for social anxiety/ depression?
I am on 150mg of Wellbutrin daily and, to put it simple, feel like it had made me dumb… I think social anxiety is my biggest problem but I was technically diagnosed with clinical depression several years ago. I don’t want to be on medication at all but for now… I just need an alternative to Wellbutrin because I am done feeling like an idiot. I’m more easily confused and lose track of what I was thinking WAY more than I used to. =(

The most common medicines for for social anxiety disorder are generally the SSRIs, which include Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, and others. If it’s severe, some psychiatrists will try the atypical anti-psychotics like Abilify, or even amphetamines like Dexedrine or Vyvanse.
